How high can I lift my car without changing out the driveshaft and/ or shocks?

This is going to sound stupid but some friends and I want to make my 1992 pontiac firebird into an off roader. It was my parts car for my other car, but it still runs and drives around. The guy completely wrecked it so we want to make something fun. How high can we lift the car without changing out the driveshaft and or struts? Also, would it be better to take weight out or put more weight in..as it will not be 4x4? How much would it cost to lift it up as high as I can without changing the stuff out?

Thanks in advanceHow high can I lift my car without changing out the driveshaft and/ or shocks?
you would be better off cutting the fenders to all hell and putting big tires on it , to get a little more drive shaft clearance you can always tilt the rear diff up a bit, and go with a body lift made out of wood blocks of whatever you can jam under itHow high can I lift my car without changing out the driveshaft and/ or shocks?
why would you want to????????How high can I lift my car without changing out the driveshaft and/ or shocks?
you can lift it until the drive shaft is stretched out. How long it will last i dont know. me and my buds just put blocks under the cars you can but at advance auto for like 100 bucks or you can make wooden ones yourself. And take weight out so it can sit on top of the mud else it will sink every time and that gets boring. How high can I lift my car without changing out the driveshaft and/ or shocks?
you are going to want to make it as light as you can, and I don't think you can lift it very much without changing the drive shaft (3%26quot; maybe), and I don't know if you can lift it at all without modifying the shocks and strutsHow high can I lift my car without changing out the driveshaft and/ or shocks?
4 inches seems right, strip all the weight you can,put a single hoop rollbar in it,and have a blast with it.check jc whitney,i think they sell airbags that will lift it for about 2-300 bucks.
