2001 Chevy Malibu Struts?

I need to get my struts changed. How crucial are struts for a vehicle? I don't know much about them. If i don't fix them, what are the consequences for the car, how can it affect my driving? Right now the car drives fine. Thanks2001 Chevy Malibu Struts?
if struts are bad you will have poor control of vehicle, car will be hard to control during turns bounce when u hit bumps, can also damage tires by rubbing against wheel well2001 Chevy Malibu Struts?
Front struts are front shocks. They need to be replaced when they become damaged (they are part of your front sespension)or worn out like whan a shock wears out. If you notice shock oil (turn the wheel all the way one way and use a flashlite to look at the shiney piston where it enters the strut housing) at the housing, or when the seals in side wearout. Try bouncing all four corners of the car and see how many bounces you have after you stop. (no more than three is ok)2001 Chevy Malibu Struts?
Often you will be told you need struts when you really do not. I happens when the dust boots start cracking. I watched several times as a mechanic replaced struts because the dust boots were cracked only to not install new dust boots. Get more than one opinion.
