Last week I took my car in for a oil change to Good Year because I had a $20 off coupon. I had a feeling the cashier was irked about me giving him the coupon for some reason. Well after my oil change, I drive away and theres this very noticable clanking noise on my rear passenger tire. I took it back and told them, and they said I had a broken strut. I never heard any noise AT ALL from it before and told them that, they said thats how struts work. once you raise the car and then lower it, something happens and then you hear the clanking noise. is this info correct? i found it funny how I never heard ANYTHING at all from the tire before I took it there but now the noise is quite loud when I drive especially over bumps. my buddy told me its very difficult to break a strut and i really do not know how i could have broke it driving. i've been having this thought inside me that the Good Year people broke my strut either on accident, or on purpose to 'get back' at someone trying to save a few bucks to make him pay a pretty penny to get this fixed. what do you guys think? and theres really nothing i can really do is there besides pay and get it fixed myself even if they were the ones to break it as i have no proof, please give me some advice - am I screwed?Did GoodYear break my strut on car?
You have a shot at being paid back for the repair costs. If you are very detailed in illustrating your story to the BAR (Bureau of Automotive Repair) you should win this one. I am 2 for 2 in winning with the help of the BAR and I would take take immediate action on this if I were you. The BAR is one agency who IS on your side and will set things right. they are right struts do just break, and it will effect them once lifted on a lift, the suspension extends all the way, your just gonna have to fix them typically they are only like 20-50 bucks for the part plus laborDid GoodYear break my strut on car?
you said it your CHEEP and who isnt dollars are hard to earn so you saved what ? its a mechanical fact if i rase your vech it will relax all of your cars suspension face it your struts , shocks and coils are BLOWN OUT , and you have to replace all of them -- you didnt tell us what kind of gem you are stuck driving ??/ you cant just go driving around a buckket and -duh i got a cupon to change oil for TWENTY-BUCKS ? please if you cant check your car for the saftey of the girls that ride in it than it leads to OH I GOT RIPPED OFF --cheeck your oil as well as the other fluids ,next will be your brakes !!!!! your not screwed thats the cost of driving ---- and you got insurance ? send them the bill -------or not just wanted too answer one 2-nite
