How hard is it to change a honda civic's struts?

front twoHow hard is it to change a honda civic%26039;s struts?
Not really at all just takes a bit of muscle and a nice bar that you can put a 3/4 socket on and maybe step on if needed, it's good if you've two people but it can be done with one person. If you had two bars like like that be good , sometimes I use a ratchet on the second bolt and jam it so I can turn the outside bolt.Just be sure to change the upper mount and bearing cases too or at least the bearing cases. Also you'll need a strut spring compressor bec new struts don't come with the springs usually. Some Honda parts suppliers sell a complete strut assembly that are rebuild or reconditioned very cheap.Look for the suppliers that only sell Honda parts they'll offer a good deal.

Once the the lower part of the strut bolts loose you'll find a set of nuts under the hood on the side walls that you must take off don't touch the middle big bolt at all.

Hope that helps and best of luck. By the way buy a Haynes service manual it will help you a lot.
