How tough is a RWD conversion?

Problem with conversion on my car, limited underbody support for driveshaft, and rear assembly suspension support. No solid suspension for rear wheels. Just a few stabilization bars and the strut stuck up in the tower near the passengers head.

Looking to change that. Shorter strut, and alot of welding.

1994 Nissan Maxima is the car.

Anyone have any information on an estimate for suspension upgrade on rear wheels?

Also, would I be able to pick out a rear drive assembly from another Nissan vehicle with a similar wheel base and add it? Then change the interior bay under the hood to turn a F/R engine 90掳 and have a custom C/F driveshaft built?

alot tougher than that, but mechanically, can those major steps be done?

Price ranges? Gotta call my lender. How tough is a RWD conversion?
if you want to put 10 to 20 thousand in a 94 to get a car worth 2000 go on...How tough is a RWD conversion?
ok how does near impossible sound..

why even do it on a maxima ne way??

i mean the whole engine needs to be rotated to get the spinning to the back of the car. the driveshaft/ transmission would neeed to be moved.. god why am i even wasting my time.. stupid question save your money and buy a damn rwd drive car. i hate people who ask a stupid questionj like this about a 13 year old car thats not woth anything

i would say it would cost at least 8,000 $$

wow thats a huge down payment on a gto or 350z or s2000 or maybe a mustang

try one of those instead of wasting money on a car thats on its last leg alreadyHow tough is a RWD conversion?
Don't even start that nightmare. If you want a different car find one, don't try to build it out of a Maxima. Of course anything can be done but anybody at all with any custom or fabrication experience will agree with me, if you need a loan to experiment with this Frankenstein idea, don't do it. Just hit yourself in the nuts with a hammer, and flush what you have in your wallt down the toilet. You'll be better off.

I know that isn't what you wanted to hear but it really is in your best interest. How tough is a RWD conversion?
Okay...... before I give you advice on this....... I'm going to tell you to run the other way like your life depended on it!!!!!! I did a RWD conv. on a 1997 Chevy Cavalier..... In order to do it the fabrication prices are ungodly!!!! But if you've got the $ and the time to put into it, it can come out a really one of a kind car! As far as pulling a RWD assembly...... I think the corresponding year Frontier or Small wheel based P/U was built onto the same platform and should be interchangable....or you coud also go as far as to build your maxima onto a new frame........How tough is a RWD conversion?
LOL - %26quot;Hit yourself in the nuts with a hammer %26amp; flush your money down the toilet%26quot; Sounds really crude, but he is 100% correct. EVERY car modification such as this takes 10 times more time than you thought, and 10 times the cost. If you are taking a loan to do this? Forget about it.

Then again, the old saying is %26quot;speed costs money - how fast do you want to go?%26quot;
