How to change the front struts on a 2001 Mercury Villager?

It looks pretty straightforward. Is there anything else I should be aware of (hidden tips). I already have the torque specs for the bolts. The top 3 strut mount bolts are 35 ft/lbs , the center locking bolt is 75 ft/lbs and the two bottom bolts which attach to the steering knuckle are 100 ft/lbs. I believe those are the correct values.

I'm also replacing the strut mounts that come with the bearing. I would appreciate any help on doing this job. Thanks. How to change the front struts on a 2001 Mercury Villager?
Be sure when you take them apart the spring don't hit you, Now how are you going to put it back together the spring needs to be compressed, We had machines that collapseed the spring so we could build them up , Be careful , Here is what I would do put the bottom in and let the car down to collaps the spring make sure the strut goes all the way through and tie it down good luck hope this helps. How to change the front struts on a 2001 Mercury Villager?
unless you get the whole strut and spring assembly in one you need to get some springpressure relief tools. you are gonna have to reuse the old springs . it sounds pretty straight forward you got everything you need .just take it to an aligment shop when you are done
